Advocacy & Education Opportunities 2019
As a reminder, in June and July, we will be holding planning sessions, but not a monthly meeting on the fourth Monday. In the meantime, we want to make sure that you are informed of opportunities to engage in restorative justice activities and become more knowledgeable about the juvenile and criminal justice issues that promote mass incarceration. Please review and take advantage of participating in the offerings listed below:
EMI Georgia Network EXPO
May 20th - EMI Georgia Network EXPO
Join us at our community resource EXPO where you will meet service providers, community organizations and other agencies that support incarcerated children, youth and adults and families who are impacted by the juvenile and criminal justice systems.
EMI Georgia Network Meeting
April 22nd - EMI Georgia Network Meeting
Discussion Topic: The pathways between child abuse and juvenile and criminal justice systems involvement.
"Being the victim of a physical assault increases the likelihood of violent juvenile offending by 3.3 times (Nofzinger & Kurtz, 2005)."
